Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who featured in popular programs including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
