The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the National Football League
That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an advantage over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City last week or something more? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising outcome - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two scores but rusher Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 total yards and two scores
Containing the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical turnovers, and the two from Allen in particular. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter fumble that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year
The Dolphins have demonstrated a varied performances this season so the jury's out on if this is the start of a trend, but for the Bills they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC teams, but could they be the best?
One could pick holes in New England, Denver and Indianapolis really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their combined 24 victories coming against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
Denver beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indy can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their prime time win in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to get ready was huge
Maye's MVP claims continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to victory
The defense is reliable and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth different ball carrier to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
While you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Pats should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their schedule - which includes just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Los Angeles, who each scored forty points to reach seven and two ahead of the upcoming major meeting between the two in LA
They've both secured four victories in a row, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Both could realistically be without a loss as too - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play blocked and returned by the Philadelphia for a score
The Seahawks also lost to San Francisco, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the top teams in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season to date
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Jonathan Taylor could be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Germany - rushing for 244 rushing yards, scoring three scores and adding another 42 {receiving yards
