Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the state, bringing powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Damage
Homeowners witnessed substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 households in Victoria also encountered power outages after the capital city saw its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of Queensland's east this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.
Medical Alert
Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This alert comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the region.
