Fresh Information Emerge About the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged about the shocking demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
A Alarm
As detailed in an account citing a family associate, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.
When she went into the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody without bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Additionally refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement applies to descriptions of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were inaccurate.
Investigation Timeline
Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the scene. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
