Iran Reports Assault on US Base in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
