Soccer Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
